Bayis Sheli: Purim תשע"ז!!

This Year at Bayis Sheli, the gala Purim event brought laughter and joy to the honoured clients and

children.

As early as Rosh Chodesh, residents were already busily cutting and sticking Purim paraphernalia, in

anticipation of the big event!

On Purim, the festively transformed Bayis Sheli Campus was a sight to behold!

Boasting a mighty collection of clown-themed decorations, multi-hued clown napkins, and a

tablecloth to match, the dining room table practically glowed!! Orange balloons gleaming juicily

upon the table, and matching T-shirts and bow-ties worn by participants made the Spirit of

Venahapoch Hu complete!

The meal was ably led by benevolent hosts, Mr and Mrs Secret and family, who lent a

Heimishe atmosphere and Yom Tov’dige warmth. The warm singing and joyous renditions of ליהודים

היתה אורה and other purim Zemiros permeated the room.

A spirited rendition of ‘Kodesh Hi Luchem…Malka…’ brought everyone to tears. The beneficiary of

the song, a child called Malky, swayed and listened with intent feeling to the haunting tune,

evidently deeply touched at the sound of her name, ‘Malkah… oyoy Malka, Malkaleh…’ in this

beautiful song by Shloime Gertner. (would this be invading privacy if I add it – she’s Gertner’s

daughter.)

The meal was finished with a feeling joyous camaraderie between Hosts, staff and children. Guests

left with reluctant goodbyes. It was hard to take leave of this special place. It felt like one was saying

goodbye to an unearthly experience where we had touched true eternal simcha. Watching the

children dance and clap with unembellished joy had been like watching the reality of true inner Bliss!

In this Home of uninhibited joy, we had glimpsed true Simcha.
