ShidduchBuch

Welcome to ShidduchBuch, the one-stop resource for helping you enable Shidduchim to happen.

The Qualified Shadchan

As part of the ShidduchBuch Project, we are working towards developing the “Professional Shadchan Qualification”.  The purpose of this project is to produce qualified professional Matchmakers, who will view their work as a holy mission and dedicate themselves to this vocation long term.  With the global recession being a long term thing, this option should appeal to people who are serious about making a decent living in an honourable fashion.

Shidduch Prospects

We have hundreds of candidates on our ShidduchBuch, who are at various stages in their life.  Granted, not all of them are fit for all of them - however we can at least get an idea of what’s out there.

Shidduch Buch Online Database
In order to make the most out of this initiative, we need to have a proper online database set up. So that all segments of the Charedi world can participate, the system needs to cater for users who are not using Web services.  Telnet or similar Terminal based services should be able to access the database, so that there should be no incentive for a Frum Shadchan to use the WWW.

Build up a Complete Profile
We need to set up a Shidduch research service that can do a full background check into a potential Shidduch, researching all the regular areas that is typically looked into about the potential Shidduch and their family.

All is good which starts good
We need to remind parents and their offspring about the 80/20 divide: for a Shidduch to work long term, each set of parents can only contribute 10% to the deal – their child.  For the rest, the couple needs to work together to make up the remaining 80%, where the split is not necessarily equal.  The husband may invest 75% and the wife only 5 or vice versa – depending on their attitude, destiny or Mazel.
