Secrets of Chevron – The Cave of Machpelah - Its Importance and Connection to Every Jew (3 chapters)
Chapter 2: Adam and Eve[1]
Adam was created circumcised[2] , innocent, perfect. The moment he ate the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge, his perfection was damaged by the growth of his foreskin and he passed this on to his descendants until the end of time.
The covenant that G-d made with Abraham was on the condition that Abraham and his offspring would accept upon themselves the mitzvah of circumcision[3] to return to the perfection of the body and at the same time to work on the perfection of the soul through observance of the mitzvos of the Torah, to rise to the spiritual heights of Adam when he was in the Garden of Eden and to return the brightness of the upper lights with which he was created.
G-d created Adam and Eve individually and granted them and their descendants the power of reproduction in order to plant in them the connection of parents to children and children to parents. Indeed, the greatest urge and desire of every man and woman is to be a parent, like the desperate cry of Rachel Imeinu “Give me children, or else I die”, and in this manner one can understand and feel more strongly the significance of our connection to our Father in Heaven. And G-d hints to us that the blood covenant with him in the circumcision is meant to remind us that the entire process of the continuity of generations shall be in accordance with His laws and mitzvos in holiness.
Eve: It seems that her rush to taste of the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge stems from the fact that she did not hear the prohibition directly from the Al-Mighty and at the same time that she tasted of the fruit, her bodily perfection was damaged in her womanly cycle, now accompanied by difficulty in raising children, the pain of pregnancy and childbirth, that was henceforth passed on to her descendants for all generations.
An opportunity for women to return the heavenly light that was faded and secreted in the Garden of Eden, is by observance of the three important, unique mitzvos of the Jewish woman:
1. Separation of challah 2. Lighting candles 3. Family purity
1. Separation of Challah:
G-d “separated challah” from the batter from which he created the world and from the “challah” he created Adam.
When Adam was in the Garden of Eden the ministering angels grilled meat and chilled wine for him (Yalkut Shimoni Breishis Section 15).
When he was banned from the Garden of Eden, the blessing ceased and his food became like that of an animal, as it is written: “and you shall eat the grass of the fields (Breishis 3:18). Adam cried and his organs were shocked, “will my donkey and I eat from the same trough”? And G-d’s mercy with him elevated his food, however, it would be accompanied by hard work and effort. (“You shall eat bread by the sweat of your brow”).
11 tasks to preparation of bread: plowing and planting, harvesting and bundling, winnowing and threshing, picking and grinding, sifting, kneading and baking.
Separating the challah from the dough when baking the bread and challah by the woman in her home is done in order to bring back the blessing that should once again be found in abundance through the baking of the bread, which is the principle sustenance of man, so that we will be blessed in our homes with spiritual and material abundance as was Adam blessed in the Garden of Eden.
2. Lighting Candles – “The candle of G-d is the spirit of man”.  It is a priority for women to light many candles to illuminate the home with glowing holiness from the Shabbat and holiday candles in order to restore and uplift the spiritual light to its level in the Garden of Eden.
3. Family Purity – (Primary in importance of the women’s mitzvos)
The immersion in a crouched and stooped position is like bowing to G-d in supplication and prayer with blessings for the gift of motherhood prior to its fruition, as the blessings before eating fruit.
Family purity, with all of its rules and specifications as required by the Creator brings the life of the family to a high spiritual level and entitles the child to a precious gift, which he can receive only once in a lifetime – before his conception.
This elevated holiness is granted to the fetus by the Creator of the world, Himself at the moment of conception. This holiness is recognized and glows on the face of the child for his entire life.

[1]  G-d – Adam – Eve
The gematriah of אדם (Adam) = 45
The gematriah of The Divine name –א יוד-קא-ואו-ק (when calculated using the spelling of the names of the letters) = 45
(Eve) is hidden within this extended manner of calculating the Divine name: 19 = וד-א-או-א     חוה = 19
According to “Igeret HaTiyul” by R’ Chaim ben Betzalel – brother of the Maharal.
איש – אשה (Man – woman) the letters אש (fire) – and G-d resides in their names with the "י" in man and the ""ה in woman. If they merited, G-d’s presence is between them – if not, fire (אש) consumes them. How do they earn their entitlement? They purify their virtues: relinquishing, kindness, mercy, etc.
[2] Noah, Shem and Moses were also born circumcised
The gematriah of משה רבינו (Moses) =613 = the number of mitzvos in the Torah

[3] The essence of the mitzvah of circumcision is separation: separation of the sealed foreskin (“uncircumcised in heart and flesh” Ezekiel 44:7) revealing the attentive and awakened inside – priah.

Secrets of Chevron – The Cave of Machpelah - Its Importance and Connection to Every Jew
Chapter 1: In the Holy Temple, the day begins with the mention of Chevron.
In order to notify of the dawn’s rising, and the time of the eternal sacrifice’s arrival, הכהנים (the priests) announce: “The entire east has lit up even to Chevron”. (Yoma 3:1) And this, in spite of Chevron not being in the East, but South of Jerusalem, why?
Adam said: If in the case of the tablets (of stone)[1], where in the future they will be written by the finger of G-d, and the waters of the Jordan are destined to flee from them; ' how much more so will this be the case with my body, kneaded by His two hands, and because He breathed into my nostrils the breath of the spirit of His mouth, after my death they will take me and my bones, and make them into an image for idolatry; thus I will place my coffin deep down beneath the cave and within the cave, and there he is buried: Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rivkah, Jacob and Leah. Therefore, it is called " Kiryat Arba (4) " because 4 couples were buried there.. It is stated about them: (Isaiah 57:2) “He entereth into peace, they rest in their beds” (Pirkei DeRabbi Eliezer)
Adam was created from dust that the Creator gathered from all corners of the Earth so that at the time of his demise, wherever he would be, the land could not refuse to absorb him[2]. The dust for the creation of Adam’s head, the shelter of the brain and thought was taken from the future Holy Site in Jerusalem, where he lived most of his life after he was banned from the Garden of Eden.
Adam and Eve did not merit remaining in the Garden of Eden for even one night. On the sixth day, the Shabbat eve when they were created: in the first hour – his dust was gathered. In the second – he was made a Golem. Third – his limbs were stretched. Fourth – a soul was thrown in. Fifth – he stood on his legs. Sixth – he gave all the animals names. Seventh – Eve was created. Eighth – Cane and Abel were born. Ninth – he was commanded not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge. Tenth – he transgressed the command. Eleventh – He was judged. Twelfth – he was banned from the Garden of Eden (Sanhedrin 38)
Man is in his glory but he does not understand” (Psalms 49) – they were in the Garden of Eden and did not merit staying there. The Shabbat protected them for 24 hours of peace and light of the Divine and eased for them the difficult passage from the elite life in the Garden of Eden to life on Earth. In their honor the sun did not set and they had day and night full of light, happiness and Shabbat rest. Adam opened his mouth in song: “A song, for the Shabbat day. It is good to give thanks to G-d, and to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most  High." (Psalms 92)
At sundown following the Holy Shabbat, darkness enveloped them and for the first time they felt the shadow of death and the difficult feeling of failure due to the dizzying fall from the Divine light. With G-d’s mercy on his creation, “G-d called upon two tiles –flint stones, Adam banged them together and light came out”. Thus G-d revealed to them the secret of creating fire, Adam felt comforted and sang to G-d regarding the light and the fire: “And if I say: Surely the darkness shall envelop me, and the light around me shall be night” (Psalms 139:11) Therefore, we kindle and renew the fire every Saturday night following the Shabbat at the same time that it was revealed to Adam. we thank and bless with Havdalah: “Blessed are thou…..blessed is the creator of the light of the fire”. (According to Chapters of Rabbi Eliezer)
On Sunday, Adam noticed his new location, where all the forest animals were roaring hungrily and he is standing before them alone with no means of defense. This bitter reality deepened his sense of failure and fear that he would not be able to survive without the help of G-d. He regretted the past and accepted upon himself to strictly adhere to the commandments of the Creator. He entered the upper waters of the Gichon, and immersed in the mikveh [3] in the waters of the Shiloah spring: “These waters are known for their elevated virtues of sanctification and holiness because its source comes from beneath the Holy of Holies”. In order to be alone and stand in prayer and supplication to the Creator, regarding his wife, Eve, and all of his future offspring until the end of time.
Submerged in the mikveh, body and soul, he immersed and cried many times, he fasted and prayed days and nights with hopes to sweeten his decree. He drew his inner strength to continue the rest of his life from the message he received from the -  מקוה(mikveh,) that there was still תקוה - (hope.)
Adam sat and cried for 49 days in the waters of the mikveh, 5776 years ago. “Even though the Gates of Prayer locked, the Gates of Tears did not lock” (Brachot 32). “May it be your will, who hears the sound of crying, that you place our tears in your sack and save us from all evil, difficult decrees because we depend on you solely.
In the merit of the immersion and the repentance and the tears, G-d sweetened the decree and the warning “the day you eat it, you will surely die” man’s 24-hour day became a 1000 year day of the Creator, as it is written, “For a thousand years are in Your eyes like yesterday” (Psalms 90:4).
Seventy years of the thousand that Adam received as a gift, he set aside for David, King of Israel. “This is the book of the generations of Adam” (Genesis 5:1) “G-d passed all the generations before him, he showed him David, a life which only had a three-hour allotment. He said to him (Adam to G-d) is there a present in the heavens? He answered, yes. He said to Him, 70 years of my life will be set aside for on his behalf (David).
David the King, the Moshiach[4] - is intended to repair the world resulting from the sin of Adam. Therefore, he gifted him from his life, a natural life span: “The days of our years among them are 70 years” (Psalms 90:10).
Adam lived for 930 years and David lived 70 years.- "מות תמות"  “You will surely die” this form of language is used with Adam after 930 years and with David after 70 years, together, they equal 1,000 years, with which Adam was blessed (According to the AriZal).
Adam said I will build a hotel for my remains” and to prevent his grave from becoming a source for idolatry, he secretly built his burial place. Adam saw a light in the same place that he left the Garden of Eden (Zohar Breishis 57:2) there Adam secretly carved the Me’Arat HaMachpelah – a deeper inner cave under the existing cave in Chevron. And on their 930th birthday, Adam and Eve secretly entered the cave, they laid in their resting place and died with the kiss of death, while a permanent candle burns in their memory. Immediately afterwards, a miraculous earthquake moved cliffs and rocks and blocked the opening.
Adam and Eve disappeared without any remains, and the unfruitful searches in every generation afterwards for their burial place was for naught.
The push for the desperate searches stemmed from the desire to see, up close the only man in the world who was the creation and the handiwork of the Creator of the world, and his unique characteristics. Likewise, his clothes – the leather garment – the unnatural makings that caused the animals to give in to the hunt. 1241 years after the death of Adam, they still used his delightful clothing. Esav murdered Nimrod in order to steal the clothes from him. Jacob used some of the fabric in order to sew Joseph’s coat. He therefore refused to be comforted and to believe that Joseph was killed by a wild beast.[5]
The Fruit of the Tree of Knowledge: One of the ideas encompassed in the prohibition of eating the fruit: In order to test the power of self-control in Adam and Eve, they were forbidden this fruit for only three hours prior to sunset on Friday, until the coming of the Shabbat. Had they withstood the prohibition for those three hours, the Creator would have given them the coveted fruit to bless and sanctify the Shabbat and afterwards to eat it to their heart’s desire (According to the AriZal). According to this, Adam and Eve’s sin was not in eating the fruit, but in eating it at the forbidden time – before it was permitted, and without making a blessing on it first.
Measure for measure, the observance of the mitzvah of family purity is an exercise in complete self-control, among others, in order to bring children into the world at a spiritual level which is most coveted. Parents who observe this mitzvah carefully, grant their child a precious gift awarded only once in a lifetime and this elevated holiness is granted to the fetus by the Creator Himself at the moment of conception, and our sages teach us that this holiness shines over the child and remains with him his whole life.

[1]The world was created by 10 utterances of the Creator, but the tablets were written by G-d’s finger. The power of a contract is limited to the value of the signatory. And in the tablets – the infinite glory and Holiness of G-d were concentrated in one limited space as the actual letter from G-d.
The tablets are the only object where one can see the handiwork and writing of the Creator, but the right and the strength to see them given only to those who rose to a high spiritual level at Mount Sinai. Therefore, immediately following the giving of the Torah, they were placed in the Holy Ark in the Holy of Holies and were never again seen by man. The Rambam in Mishne Torah, Chapter 4 adds: when Shlomo built the Holy Temple and knew that it would in the end be destroyed, he built a hidden burial place, an inaccessible cache deep down, and Yosheahu, the king (400 years later – 10 years prior to the destruction) commanded and the tablets were buried it in the location that Shlomo built along side with Aaron’s staff and the jar and the anointing oil, as well.
[2] As the sea does not absorb the body of a human, but spits it out.
[3] Men’s immersion in the mikveh (we have no intention to expound on this subject) is totally different in its essence than women’s immersion. Women’s immersion in the mikveh is the basic and most important mitzvah in the Torah for family life. In establishing a community, building a mikveh for women takes priority over building a synagogue or buying a Sefer Torah. It is permissible to sell a synagogue or Sefer Torah in order to build a mikveh.
(Adam) The acronym of the word Adam in Hebrew stands for Adam – David - Moshiach

[5] The brothers also knew that the coat had unnatural protective qualities. They, therefore, removed the coat from Joseph when they threw him in the pit.

Pela Nossa Sobrevivência I

Pela Nossa Sobrevivência

En Brerá - אין ברירה - Não há alternativa

30% sequer ouviram falar do conceito!

(Tehilim 51:4, Or Zarúa 1.40.112). "Imersão para o Arrependimento!" (Magen-Avraham, Orach Chayim 606:4).

(Tehilim 51: 4, Or Zaru'a 1.40.112). "Inmersión para el arrepentimiento!" (Magen Avraham-, Oraj Jaim 606: 4).

There is no choice

For Our Survival
Ain Braira -אין ברירה  - There is No Choice
Every Person and Each Mikva Must Be a Center to Mikva Educate Every Yid!
Why?
Our People and our Holy-Land are under physical and spiritual threat.
90% of Yidden worldwide do not observe Mikva! 30% never even heard about the concept!
The problem is not lack of Mikvas or funds to build them, but lack of Mikva Education!
Results:
• 90% do not attend shul even on Yom Kippur!
• Europe: 85% Intermarriage.
• USA: We lost One Million Yidden in the last 4 years! 80% Intermarriage.
• Our Holy-Land is currently the world's only country under open threat of nuclear annihilation.
• We cannot deny a connection between the problems! What must we do?
Ain Braira: We must educate every Yid around the world about Mikva! Why?
Among a host of reasons:
1. Each one has the same reasons to Mikva immerse as Adam – the first human-being, whose first act after he sinned, was a repentance Mikva Immersion, (Pirkay d'Rabi Eliezer 14-20).
2. Prophet Yirmiyahu, (14:8, Sanhedrin 94): "Mikva is a source of Jewish Salvation," greatly depended on our entire people observing it.
3. Prophet Yeshayahu, (1:15,16,Targum): After a repentance Mikva immersion, we have a better chance that Hashem will listen, accept and answer our prayers with merci and compassion.
4. "Sin defiles! Therefore: Repentance requires purification from the sin!" (Tehilim 51:4, Or Zaru'a
1.40.112). "Immersion for Repentance!" (Magen-Avraham, Orach Chayim 606:4).
5. Until the mental maturity age of 20, every child, like a monkey imitate the social milieu. Hence, every Jewish boy, needs a Torah education and supervision from age 5 until age 20. Stopping it before, risks losing the Torah educational investment, since the youngster adapts himself to his social milieu. If he lives among non-Jews he will act like them. (Avot 5:21, shmot 30:14, Rashi). Sadly, nowadays, most Yidden do not Torah educate their boys due to 15 years of high tuition cost and a host of other reasons. Their children attend public-schools and get married to the non-Jewish pals, since they are easier to get, as their parents urge them "catch" a smart and rich "Jewish boy," who does not get drunk. The easiest and most effective solution to curb the intermarriage holocaust and at minimal expense, is: to Mikva educate every Yid! Since during Mikva immersion, without air to breath, we instinctively connect to Hashem, after which we think, pray, live differently, inspired to learn Torah and then intermarriage cease to be an option. Nowadays, men have no Torah obligation to immerse in a Mikva - however we are duty-bound, since beyond the resulting purity, Mikva immersion – "To stand Alone With G-d!" leads to a host of spiritual benefits, such as fear of Heaven, repentance, observance of Torah laws - where men immerse, Family Purity is strictly and fully observed and community life becomes more serious. However, to reach all of our People, we need many activists in every place around the world. Where and How may we recruit them?
Ain Braira: Every local Mikva committee must also become a Center for Mikva Education for the local and for far-flung Yidden who are sorely lacking in Mikva knowledge. For all this, great sums of funding are needed. Where and How may we raise them?
Ain Braira: There is no Choice! We pay 10% - 30% for the advertisement of each item we use or consume, likewise: Beyond the obligation of every Yid to support & labor for Mikva Education, we must ask, beseech & demand that each Mikva set aside 10% of its building and operating budget towards Mikva Education by their local committee. This, along with the direct donations, will provide funding for ongoing dissemination of printed Mikva educational materials in every Yid's mail box & for additional activities. It will certainly increase the number of users and thus also the Mikva's income. With G-d's help: In the zechus of this tremendous mitzvah, we will certainly merit Yeshuos from our physical & spiritual threats, communal & personal problems, globally & in our Holy Land.

NAFSHY: A Breakthrough in Chinuch - Connecting Children with their Parents.

Date: 8 January 2017 at 16:51

NAFSHY: A Breakthrough in Chinuch - Connecting Children with their Parents.

A packed audience filled Yetev Lev Hall on a freezing Thursday night. This wasn’t a fundraiser event, nor a gala dinner.  It was the launch of an innovative organisation set up by local askonim, with the backing of Rav Ephrayim Padwa Rov of the UOHC in Stamford Hill and other leading Rabbonim SHLITA.

Nafshy was established with one objective: to strengthen the relationship between parents and their children. In our times, every parent understands the importance of investing in the Chinuch of their child. As with many other pressing needs, there are some parents who fall short in their fulfillment of this obligation for the simple reason that they lack the tools, knowledge or time.  Nafshy is here to address this shortcoming by augmenting the already existing Chinuch system with help, advice and encouragement so as to facilitate the crucial role that parents play in their children’s lives.

Chaired by Rabbi Menasche Scharf, the audience heard Divrei Brochoh from the Mora d’Asra, Rav Ephrayim Padwa SHLITA, who stressed the importance of this Yesod, making it clear that Nafshy is an organisation we have all been waiting for and it deserves the backing and active support from every parent.

The Nafshy guest speaker Rabbi Pinchas Jung, a renowned Mechanech from Monsey, New York addressed the packed hall, having curtailed his attendance at a family own Simchah, to attend this momentous event. He discussed amongst others how important it is to be available to our children and having an open relationship so that children feel comfortable to raise any questions and share their deepest fears, concerns or curiosities.  He so to speak nailed his colours to the Nafshy mast, by proclaiming that this organisation has broken new ground in effective parenting and went so far as to announce that - upon his return to the United States of America - he will introduce this idea to the educational establishments where he is a frequent speaker.

The next speaker was Rabbi Shmayah Low, Dayan and Rosh Kollel Satmar, who focused on the link between cheder and home, where parents are truly partners with the teachers and the Moisad that is investing so much in educating their children.

Rabbi Mordechai Klein, Menahel of the junior department in the Bobov Cheder - with his trademark energetic manner and Yiddishe bren - kept the audience spell-bound until well past closing time.  He gave practical strategies for parents to engage with their children. For example, how a parent should address their child during those first few minutes after coming home from a long day at school/cheder. He stressed parents’ responsibility for their children’s chinuch - if they send a relaxed child to cheder, he is like a vessel ready to accept what the Rebbis have to offer.   Rabbi Klein encouraged parents to continue focusing on their children’s chinuch, and outlined Nafshy’s plans to arrange monthly gatherings for parents. Led by local mechanchim, Nafshy's programme will cover a specific chinuch-related topic each time.  At the same time, Nafshy will arrange smaller gatherings within the Chadorim and schools so the parents can appreciate the work that is being done there, this will lead them to participate more in the studies and chinuch of their children.

Nafshy is funded Le'iluy Nishmas Reb Pinches B"R Meir Gedalyeh Ostreicher from London,

Nafshy is happy to provide for Askonim around the world with all the necessary material - including the full advertising campaign (to be personalised) and the audio of the speeches, ready for redistribution.  The goal of Nafshy's founders is to enable anyone who so wishes to start their local branch of Nafshy, free of charge, so that this this great educational resource can effect change in every corner of the globe.

New Shtiebel in South Tottenham

Chanukah 5773

New Shtiebel in South Tottenham

The first Shabbos in our new Shtiebel passed with an elated and enthralled atmosphere.
Friday night was graced by Rabbi Lezer Rottenberg, who taught Or HaChaim on the Sedra, whilst Rabbi Shaye Greenfeld held a spirited Drosho during Shalosh-seudos.
On Sunday, Zoys Chanuka we had the merit of inaugurating the Kehal Chasidim Shul on Cadoxton Avenue.
Mincha was followed by a Drosho by the Moro Deasra, where Rabbi Padwa spoke of the importance for every Jew to make the Shul his home, so that shall merit to be considered as if he dwells in Eretz Yisroel.
Joined by local Rabbonim, both from South Tottenham and further afield he then proceeded to affix a Mezuzah to the main sanctuary.
Following a L'Chaim, where the Rov of the new Shul, Rabbi Shea Leifer Shlita spoke, the assembled enjoyed a tour of the premises, expressing their admiration for the beautiful edifice that was eked out of the very limited space on site.
Regular Minyonim are now being organised, as well as Shiurim in Gemorroh, Halocho, Mussar and Chassidus.

2017 Update:
Last week marked the start of the fifth year of Kehal Chassidim in South Tottenham.  An extension to the ladies' section is underway and a regular Minyan for weekday Shacharis is provided for by local Avreichim from the Ger Chassidic sect.  May this Mokom Kodosh go MeChayil el Chayil (from strength to strength)!

Hashgochoh Protis XVII -

My first-born son was born premature and confined to an incubator for the first month of his life.

With the day of the Pidyon HaBen fast approaching, I was at a loss as to how to do it the proper way.  I mean you can do the Pidyon HaBen anywhere but it would have been nice to hold it at home, in a familiar setting (at least for the father…).

After consulting with a number of people it was agreed that I will need to call upon the good services of Rabbi Helper*, who – in the course of his work on behalf of people needing medical assistance – knows whom to contact for just this purpose.

Problem was (and still is), it’s hard to get in touch with him as he’s constantly on the move and this happened twenty five years ago when there were hardly any mobiles around.

This was occupying my thoughts when I went to visit a family friend from Eretz Yisroel, who was hospitalised in the Wellington Hospital in St John's Wood, who fell ill whilst visiting in London.

As I entered the suite, I saw a new face sitting at the patient’s bedside.  Upon asking for his name, I was given the much sought after identity of the person I was looking for!

Not only did he spare me the return trip by underground, he graciously offered to help me have the use of a consultation hall in the Homerton hospital, where we held the Pidyon HaBen with friends and family around as if it would have been at home!

Had I come five minutes later…

Had he left five minutes earlier…

* Not his real name...
