picturesque village of La Chapelle d'Abondance. 20 minutes from the
popular ski resort Chatel- a gateway to the vast Portes du Soleil ski area

Champoussin and more. - Runs are open in Chatel till mid- April. In the summer
this beautiful area is great for mountain trekking, cycling and rafting -

There are no kosher restaurants there. You can however order
meals from Chabad for 30 euros per meal (25 euros for students). You need to
give them 1-2 days notice. Their details are on the Chabad website www.chabad.org/
There is a kosher shop/butcher opposite the shul. The address is Carrer de
L'Avenir 29. The butcher doesn't sell cooked meat. I'm not sure how good the
selection is at the shop but if I visit it when I'm there I'm happy to let
people know when I get back! I have heard that there is a small selection in
the department store El Cortes Ingles but I'm not sure if they still have that.
