Public Transportation by bus or train: Senior Citizen Transportation

Starting this Friday, April 25, senior citizens aged 67 and over will be able to use free travel on all types of public transportation in Israel without restrictions: buses, light rail, Israel trains, Carmelite, Metronit and the cable car.

Starting Friday, hundreds of consultants will be working at the Ministry of Transportation service centers and at central bus stops to help seniors update their travel document and app profiles.

Important: Even if you already receive a 50% senior discount, the transition to free travel does not happen automatically - you must update your profile in the Rav Kav app or card.

✅ If you use the app (Moovit, Pango, Rav-Pass, Cello): Go to settings and select the "Rav Kav Zaav" (קו זהב) profile. Upload a photo of a document with your date of birth - an ID card, passport or driver's license.

✅ If you pay for travel with a Rav-Kav card: Update your profile in the Hopon or Ravkav Online app, or fill out the form on the websites, attaching a copy of your ID. You can go to pti.org.il/eng and scroll to the bottom to view the Rav Kav website or get Hopon. The Rav Kav site can be viewed in English and includes a list of local service stations where consultants can help you to update your profile. These include locations where one obtains a Rav Kav. Alternatively, you can call *4515.

I wish you and Am Yisroel Hatzloho Rabboh!
