The Traveling Chassidim in the UK & Europe

The Travelling Chassidim UK & Europe - a not-for-profit organisation - was formed by Chassidim from London, Westcliff and Manchester, who travel with their families around the country, visiting Jewish communities in the Provinces. Travelling Chassidim was founded in America by Rabbi Aryeh Royde of Monsey - formerly of Manchester, UK. The Travelling Chassidim is part of the World of Belz institutions in Jerusalem, guided by the Rebbe of Belz SHLIT”A. Inspired by the teachings of the late Rabbi Noach Weinberg ZTZ”L of Aish HaTorah, and especially by his innovative Project Inspire initiative – the group travels across North America, from San Antonio, Texas in the south to Côte-Saint-Luc in Canada up North. The Travelling Chassidim bring with them classic Chassidic warmth and - together with the special aura of the holy Shabbos - form a deep connection with the host community, resulting in a Shabbaton that is truly transformational, memorable and – sometimes even contagious... Here’s our trump card for any community that is planning to have them over for Shabbos: One very special feature of both the original American group and the British-European one is that we do not charge a penny for our services; the host community’s only expenditures are the travel and sometimes accommodation costs! As one of its founder’s says: “So many communities hesitate to invite us because they assume the costs would be too much for their budget. However, this should not be a problem, especially now that there is help from the UK & Commonwealth Chief Rabbi’s Centre for Community Excellence, whose intervention made many a memorable Shabbos a dream come true”.
