ca. 2007 - ALL EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ

ALL EUROPEAN LIFE DIED IN AUSCHWITZ

By Sebastian Vilar Rodrigez

I walked down the street in Barcelona, and suddenly discovered a terrible truth - Europe died in Auschwitz.

We killed six million Jews and replaced them with 20 million Muslims. In Auschwitz we burned a culture, thought, creativity, talent. We destroyed the chosen people, truly chosen, because they produced great and wonderful people who changed the world.
The contribution of this people is felt in all areas of life: science, art, international trade, and above all, as the conscience of the world. These are the people we burned.

And under the pretense of tolerance, and because we wanted to prove to ourselves that we were cured of the disease of racism, we opened our gates to 20 million Muslims, who brought us stupidity and ignorance, religious extremism and lack of tolerance, crime and poverty due to an unwillingness to work and support their families with pride.
They have turned our beautiful Spanish cities into the third world, drowning in filth and crime.
Shut up in the apartments they receive free from the government, they plan the murder and destruction of their naive hosts.
And thus, in our misery, we have exchanged culture for fanatical hatred, creative skill for destructive skill, intelligence for backwardness and superstition.

We have exchanged the pursuit of peace of the Jews of Europe and their talent for hoping for a better future for their children, their determined clinging to life because life is holy, for those who pursue death, for people consumed by the desire for death for themselves and others, for our children and theirs.

What a terrible mistake was made by miserable Europe.

Outrageous!

The Pope says that jihad violence is against God's nature, and officials fear that in response, Muslims enraged by this insult will commit... jihad violence.
  • Muslims murder 3,000 innocents in New York and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims murder 202 tourists in Bali and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims murder 333 schoolchildren and their teachers in Beslan and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims murder 292 innocents, mainly Kenyans and Tanzanians at two US Embassies and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims murder 241 US and 58 French peacekeepers in Beirut and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims fire 4,000 Katyusha rockets into Northern Israel killing over 50 innocent civilians and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims murder 52 in London and 191 in Madrid and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims murder 200 in Mumbai and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims behead Western hostages in Iraq , Buddhist monks in Thailand and Christian schoolgirls in Indonesia and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims murder 500,000 in Darfur and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims regard Jews as 'sons of pigs and monkeys', and vow to nuke Israel and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims force women to wear hideous sacks, stone to death women for getting raped and for leaving the home unescorted, engage in honor killings of sisters and daughters for unapproved dating, and expect no criticism.
  • Muslims danced in the streets and handed out sweets to their kids to celebrate the 9/11 atrocity, and still expected no criticism.
  • Since 9/11 Muslims have killed over 26,000 and wounded over 50,000 in terrorist attacks worldwide and expect no criticism.
  • Since 9/11 Muslims have committed terrorist attacks in Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Chad, Chechnya, Dagestan, Denmark, East Timor, Egypt, England, Eritrea, Ethiopia, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ingushetia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Kabardino-Balkans, Kenya, Kosovo, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Mauritania, Morocco, Netherlands, Nigeria, Pakistan, Gaza-Palestinian Authority, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Scotland, Somalia, Spain, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Arab Republic, United States, Uzbekistan and Yemen, and still expect no criticism.
  • Muslims have carried out over 5,800 fatal terrorist atrocities since 9/11, and countless thousands since Islamic conquest began in 623 AD and expect no criticism.

But if a Pope dares to tell the truth about Islam or Danes publish cartoons about Mohammed, then let the outpourings of Islamic hate and outrage begin.
And, by some twisted reach of logic, the arrogant Muslims demand the Pope issue an apology.

A Hesped for Rav Treger - the Rosh Yeshiva of Eitz Chayim

Press release (DRAFT)

London, Date: 9 June 2015

A Hesped for Rav Treger - as the Rosh Yeshiva of Eitz Chayim, Wilrijk, near Antwerp in Belgium was known - was held on Monday evening 21 Sivan at the Pardes Wiznitz hall on Lampard Grove, North London.

The event was attended by his many Talmidim, some whose grandchildren are now of Yeshiva age and many who only knew the Rosh Yeshiva from his many Shiurim that he delivered in Antwerp proper, having settled there in his later years.
Listening with rapt attention . . . .
HaRav Moshe HaLevi Hoffman
Wilrijk old-timers, who left the Jeschiwa (=Yeshiva) many decades ago sat alongside Yungeleit and listened as one eulogy after another highlighted the sterling characters that this Godol beTorah demonstrated throughout his very productive life.
From left to right: Rabbi Aftergut, Dayan Padwa and Rabbi Englander

Also in attendance was Dayan HaRav Yosef Padwa Shlita, whose sons attended Wilrijk Yeshiwa under Rav Treger Ztz"l.

Following Minchah, the chairman Rabbi Moshe Halevi Hoffman opened the evening by describing his own feelings of loss, reminiscing on the many tranquil, learning filled years that he spent under the Rosh Yeshiva's tutelage.

He echoed the sentiments of many, when he described the electrified air that permeated the Yeshiva walls, as if charged with Torah-power.
HaRav Eliyohu Aftergut
Rabbi Moshe Hoffman then introduced the guest speaker Rabbi Eli Aftergut who came specially from Antwerp to be Maspid his mentor, emphasising the many facets by which the Rosh yeshiva was uniquely famous: his breadth and depth of analysis, his concentration power and how he moulded each and every Talmid into a Ben Torah.

He made us aspire to greatness and opened up vistas of learning that enabled us - his Talmidim, whom him dearly loved - to blossom in their adult years, long after they left the Yeshiva.

Rabbi Moshe Hoffman then introduced Rabbi Sholom Tzvi Englander, who kept the audience spellbound with his description of the Rosh Yeshiva's pedagogic prowess, retelling a number of anecdotes to illustrate this rare quality, for which our generation of Mechanchim is sometimes left wanting.  The Rosh Yeshiva invested much thought into how to present a novel idea of Mussar and Hashkofo, so that even the most recent arrival should be able to absorb it.
Rabbi Sholom Tzvi Englander speaking,
Dayan Joseph Padwa sitting next to him

Rabbi Moshe Hoffman then introduced the youngest son of the Rosh Yeshiva, Harav Yitzchok Treger of Har Nof, Yerusholayim, author of Halichos Shlomo and other Seforim.

Reb Yitzchok dwelled on the manner in which his great father the giant in learning who delved into the depths of the most intricate Sugyos of Shas, managed to explain his Shiurim to the young saplings that were under charge and how a variety of Torah movements and worldviews found a place in his large heart, by which he managed to unify such a diverse collection of Bochurim, many who were poles apart from each other - into a cohesive and happy Chaburah.

HaRav Yitzchok Treger, son of the Rosh Yeshiva
His early Chasidic upbringing was augmented by the Lithuanian Derech HaLimmud in his formative years and found meaning after his wedding to the daughter of Rabbi Shlomo Zalman Auerbach Ztz"l, who was the epitome of Halocho in his days.

With his typical warmth and natural way with people, coupled with his trademark humility, afforded him a route straight into the hearts and minds of his pupils, many of whom regard him as their life mentor - as was evident at this gathering.

The Talmidim agreed to perpetuate his memory in a Torah Way: using the end of the twelve-month period as a goal, the whole Shas (Gemorro Bavli) will be completed by dividing it into 30-folio portions each - לעלוי נשמת מורנו הרב י-הודה ארי-ה בן ר' אברהם.

The Siyum is planned for the 27th of Adar II 5776, when a dinner is to be held in London in memory of Rav Treger and in support of the Wilrijk Yeshiva.  For more details, contact 07974160252.

The organisers wish to extend their heartfelt thanks to Mr Gershon Leitner and his able team, who laboured unflinchingly to guarantee the success of this auspicious event.  The large turnout surely is credited to his effort, for which we wish him success in all his private as well as communal endeavours.

A German's View on Islam - worth reading

This is by far the best explanation of the Muslim terrorist situation I have ever read.  His references to past history are accurate and clear.  Not long, easy to understand, and well worth the read.

The author of this email is Dr. Emanuel Tanya, a well-known and well-respected psychiatrist.  A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates.  When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.  'Very few people were true Nazis,' he said, 'but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care.  I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools.  So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen.

Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything.  I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.'  We are told again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace.

Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant.  It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectre of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.  The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history.  It is the fanatics who march.  It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide.  It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave.  It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honour-kill.  It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque.  It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals.  It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.  The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the 'silent majority,' is cowed and extraneous.  Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people.  The peaceful majority were irrelevant.. China 's huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.
The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist.  Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.
And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery.  Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were 'peace loving'?  History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.  Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up, because like my friend from Germany , they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun..  Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.
As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts--the fanatics who threaten our way of life.  Lastly, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes this email without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand.  So, extend yourself a bit and send this on and on and on!  Let us hope that thousands, world-wide, read this and think about it, and send it on - before it's too late.  Now Islamic prayers have been introduced into Toronto and other public schools in Ontario, and, yes, in Ottawa too while the Lord's Prayer was removed (due to being so offensive?).  The Islamic way may be peaceful for the time being in our country until the fanatics move in.
And we are silent...

Bayis Bagovah in Saas-Grund

Saas-Grund, August 2014

Bayis Bagovah organised a quasi Kehilla at the Monte Rosa hotel in Saas-Grund and over the past few weeks we had HUNDREDS of people coming to us to Daven, learn and make use of our Mikve, tuck shop and other services.
They arrived from the Saas valley region as well as other parts of Wallis and even from as far afield as Crans Montana.
We had a Minyan Shacharis from 7AM to 10AM (hey its holiday...) every half hour divided over two rooms and the same for evening prayers, including a Shiur in Daf Yomi - presented by Rabbi Sa'adya Grinfeld from Manchester and also the learning programme "Yesodey HaTorah", recently launched by the Satmar Rebbe of Monroe.
We held a Yahrzeit event for the late Belze Rebbe, attended by nearly one hundred people, with the participation of Grand Rabbi Aron Schiff of the Machzike Hadas in Antwerp.

Internet Asifa rumblings I

Dear HaModia,

Re: "The London Asifa - Why We Should Attend".

Whilst I agree with your message and its contents, I must highlight one very crucial omission.

Were it not for the internet and its enabling technologies, the London Siyum HaShass would not have been as successful.

Think about the late start, inadequate human resources (as a result of the laid back attitude of the organisers); still the outcome was such that whoever was there is still raving about it.

What saved the day was the fact that technologies like eMail, web and TxT were put to good use to facilitate this logistic-intensive event.

We (read: the Ultra-Orthodox Jewish community) have to realise that the message emanating from the Kinus/Asifa should be exactly this: grab hold of the Internet and don't let it out of your grasp, put it to the disposal of the Jewish people as another potent tool in its arsenal to build, to nurture, to enable our community to flourish as was never before possible!

Whilst on the subject, let me add my two-pence worth to the discussion:

We are now at the second of the three stages, which apply to any revolution:
  • The first one is reserved for the idealists, whilst the cynics, ignorami and high society is oblivious.
  • The second stage is the awakening of the masses, who are held back by the ivory tower denizens.
  • The third stage is universal acceptance, with those in power creaming off the maximum benefits derived from the idealists' input.
To put it into context of next week's event:
  • Stage one: we ignored the Digital Revolution for too long, which now lurks in every facet of life in the 21st century.
  • The second stage occurred when the man in the street first became aware, then intrigued and finally smitten - by the immense potential of those new little gadgets that fit in the palm of his hand.  Just to illustrate how deeply concerned are our community members, think about the immense turnout that we experienced when we organised the live broadcast (over the Internet) of the Asifa in CityField.  Over 1,000 people attended from 12:00AM until nearly 4:00AM!  Whether they changed their attitude, lifestyle or service providers is besides the point.
  • As for the third stage, the powers that be are going to decide who is going to make a quick buck from other people's hard work.
Those who dismiss the the worldwide web as "Satan's new tool of destruction", should be reminded how Torah was saved by the printing press.  The printing revolution started with non-Jews turning volume after volume of our most sacred writings.  Only later did the Jewish printing industry take over, with the results speaking for themselves.  Where would we be today without the Vilna Shas, without the Mikro'os Gedolos, without the Turim and Shulchan Aruch?

Then you will come across those who are generous enough to agree that the WWW is here to stay, whilst claiming that Jews are not to get involved in it, as it's impossible to create an all-Kosher internet.
The answer to them is this: Just as we managed to set up Kosher systems for Education (schools, Yeshivos, Shiurim etc.), Food (Meat, Milk, Bread etc.) and Lifestyle (Eruv, Mikwa, Shaatnez etc.), we can extend it to take us into the Digital Revolution - the Kosher way.

On the back of an envelope it would look something like the following: take the total budget of Kosher living in the world, compare it with the non-Kosher market and use only a tenth of the difference in profits, to set up a Kosher internet (more details available upon request).

I just 'jotted' down some of my thoughts, which might resonate with others in our community.  Undoubtedly - as with any issue of public import - there are always a number of different perspectives, all which are welcome!

Wishing the organisers much hatzlocho in their endeavours,

Gut Shabbos,

Menasche

P.S. There re always exceptions to the cause of your lament in the last paragraph; you are welcome to visit the Belz Dinner, to be held next week in the Holiday Inn, London N3, which is being organised by one of the most successful fundraisers in the Heimishe community.  Prepare to be blown away...

Mi K'amcho Yisroel!

Amazing Kiddush Hashem this week Parshas Emor (UK) 5775:
Two boys were in Newcastle Station trying to retrieve their tickets they booked via credit card in the ticket machine.
With a few minutes to spare until the train was to depart they started getting a little nervous as the credit card wasn't working. A non-Jewish lady standing nearby over heard them getting a little nervous due to their situation. She walked over to them and asked what the problem was.
After explaining their dilemma to her and saying they needed £170 for two new tickets and just didn't know what to do, she responded: "No problem, I'll lend you the money and you can pay me upon your return."

When the ticket officer, who was standing in the information desk nearby heard her offer he asked her how she ever planned on getting back that sum of money from two strangers who she never knew.

By now there was a little commotion in the station and people who were watching awaited her response, and this is what she said:
"A few years ago I worked in the Gateshead community for Mr C. L. Gluck and I can tell you first hand that Jews are the most honest and reliable people to deal with. I have no doubt that these boys will return the money to me and I'm more than happy to help them out."

The people were amazed as she handed over the money and walked off.

Hashgochoh Protis VIII - השגחה פרטית

During WWII, my father’s family lived in exile in Antwerp, Belgium. When the German army invaded the country, my grandfather R’ Getzel Beck Z”L (he lived and was Niftar in London in 1977) – who felt the wrath of these murderers on his own skin before fleeing Vienna – decided to pack up and leave immediately.  They packed their meagre belongings and set out on foot, joining the mass of people that clogged up the roads leading to the Belgian coast.  When they reached a waystation and my grandfather realised that they would never make it, having to schlepp small children under the constant threat of bombers flying overhead, he hailed buggy pulled by horse and paid the driver handsomely.  When they were all settled – they were about ten souls in all, including his parents and siblings – a Jewish man appeared and offered his gold watch to the driver.   The coachman ordered all of our family off and accepted the new ‘customer’ with his eleven family members – against the protestations of my grandfather.  A couple of hours later, when my grandfather succeeded in finding another wagon, they were well on their way when the driver told him to make sure that no one of the children look out of the window as there was an air raid not long before and the sights would not be welcoming… My grandfather did look and saw: a wagon and horse with the driver and all its passengers lifelessly strewn about the surrounding are HaShem Yikom Domom.  Indeed, he recognised the ‘customer’ and his family as well as the wagon driver who ordered him off, thereby saving his life as well as those of his whole family!

Hashgochoh Protis VII - השגחה פרטית

I heard this story from my father and from my uncle:
Once upon a time there was an old Rabbi.  He was affectionately called Reb Hershele Krieger.  Having lost his whole family, he survived the second world war all alone through a chain of miracles (a separate story!), he made his way to Eretz Yisroel, where he hoped to live out his last years immersed in the Holy Torah and on holy soil.  When he arrived, he made his way to Tel Aviv, where he reconnected with the Belze Rebbe, who told him about the new Yeshiva that was forming and so Reb Hershele decided to make it his home.
After the war there were millions of Seforim left without anyone learning in them.  They were spread over the whole European continent, wherever Jewish people used to live, learn and love these - now orphaned - Seforim.  The U.S. Army, together with their counterparts in the various European regions decided to ship them to Eretz Yisroel, where they will find a new home.  And so it came to pass that the Vaad Hayeshivos in Tel Aviv started sending lorry loads of Seforim to the Yeshivas that were in existence at that time.  In Katamon, a loud rumble was heard outside the Belz Yeshiva. A number of lorries stopped outside its gates and soon the boys started unloading crate after crate full of holy Seforim, which formed the nucleus for the large library housed on the yeshiva premises.  As the noises shifted from the street to the Beis midrash, it caused quite a distraction and people started opening the crates.
Reb Hershele, who was engrossed in his learning only realised what’s going on when he was apprised of the origins of the Seforim.  He stood up and walked over to where the crates were standing and randomly pried open one of the heavy boxes.  There on top of the pile was a worn set of the sefer Pene Yehohusa al Hashass, which looked like it was used extensively.  As by habit he opened the front cover and started reading the name of the previous owner.  His hands started shaking and he seemed visibly shocked, so some Bachurim went over to see what was bothering him. The Bachurim standing around him gasped in wonder, as they read the stamped inscription: “Harav Zvi Kruger, Rav and Av Beis Din of… (I forgot the name of the town)”.
